ISSUE SEVEN
Pre-order Issue Seven - Predicted Launch Date - 29th November
While crafting Issue Seven, I've found myself reflecting on where it all began. I don't think I could have imagined what MOAN would become, or how much it would shape me along the way.
Issue One began almost instinctively. It was born from a curiosity about sexuality and expression, a desire to find community and a tentative, almost innocent exploration of boundaries I had only just begun to question. What followed has been a journey of conversations, encounters and experiences that have continually challenged and expanded my understanding of sexuality, pleasure and freedom of expression. This personal exploration has since evolved into a global community, connected by curiosity, openness and a willingness to question convention.
Being an erotic artist comes with its contradictions. There is freedom in creating work that refuses to conform, but also vulnerability in sharing something so intimate with the world. This issue has been shaped by a period of uncertainty, of questioning my own work and the courage it takes to continue creating it.
Erotic literature and art have always possessed a rebellious, provocative edge. Condemned not merely for their explicit content, but for the liberating ideas they represent: the freedom to desire, question authority and challenge conventional morality. MOAN proudly continues this tradition, not through provocation for its own sake, but by questioning the societal conventions that make honest expressions of sexuality provocative in the first place. We believe in representing sexuality through authentic perspectives, particularly those of women, queer and non-binary people. In sharing experiences we have been taught to keep private, we confront shame, broaden our understanding of pleasure and identity, and recognise that liberation does not look the same for everyone.

Issue Seven continues these conversations through personal stories, erotic writing, photography, illustration and political expression. Some contributions are playful and celebratory, others intimate, confrontational or uncomfortable. Each offers a different perspective on desire, pleasure and the complexities of being human, inviting us to question our assumptions and consider experiences beyond our own.
MOAN would simply not exist without the generosity, vulnerability and trust of our contributors. MOAN is a collective effort, shaped by individuals willing to share their stories, experiences and creative expression, often in ways that require considerable courage. Each contribution brings something unexpected, challenging not only the reader's perspective but often my own. It is these voices that give the publication its meaning, continually expanding the conversations we began with Issue One and shaping a community that reaches far beyond its beginnings.
Above all, we want readers to finish each issue feeling less shame and more curiosity. To discover something unexpected, question their own assumptions and perhaps recognise a part of themselves in someone else's experience. MOAN is as much about the conversations it starts as the work it contains, and I hope those conversations continue long after the final page, whether with friends, family, lovers or partners, or simply through moments of personal reflection.
